Many people enjoy going to the Disney theme parks like Walt Disney World and Disneyland. But, a question that has baffled many through the ages is: which park is truly the “Happiest Place on Earth?” Well, according to the Huffington Post, Walt Disney World in Florida is the biggest park at more than 30,000 acres of land, and can hold the most guests; at least 100,000 of them in estimates. I have been to Walt Disney World five times, and it has been one of the most positive experiences of my life. I believe Walt Disney World truly is the happiest place on Earth. But, what is it about Walt Disney World that makes it so wonderful? Well, that’s what I am going to talk about today.
A Magical Experience
While there are many wonderful theme parks in the world, Disney parks provide an experience like no other. Walt Disney himself once said on the day he opened Disneyland, “To all who come to this happy place: welcome. Disneyland is your land. Here age relives fond memories of the past… and here youth may savor the challenge and promise of the future. Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams and the hard facts which have created America… with the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world.” When you walk into a Disney park, you are immediately immersed in a magical world of fantasy, adventure and the world of tomorrow. The kids smile and laugh at their Disney pals, the shopkeepers and other employees smile and wave at the park-goers, the music plays throughout the park and almost nobody leaves Grumpy at the end of their visit. Walt Disney had always dreamed of making families happy, and giving them theme parks to enjoy together was a dream come true for him.
Favorite Things to Do
There are so many great things to see and do at Walt Disney World. Here are some of my favorite things that you should do at Walt Disney World. Ride the three Mountains at the Magic Kingdom: Space Mountain, Splash Mountain (I actually don’t like that one as much, but if you like water rides, that’s the ride for you), and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Toy Story Mania at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, which is a 3-D ride where you play carnival games hosted by the Toy Story gang, is super fun, with incredibly long lines, so make sure to get there early for a Fast Pass. Who could forget It’s a Small World, the happiest boat ride on Earth with the catchy song of the same name you’ll be stuck singing all day long. If you’re looking for a 3D adventure with the mischievous Donald Duck on a wild ride through some of your favorite Disney musical moments, you’ve found it in the Magic Kingdom’s Mickey’s Philharmagic. Don’t forget to stop by Disney’s Animal Kingdom to check out the awesome live shows Festival of the Lion King and Finding Nemo – The Musical. With talented actors, awesome puppets and musical numbers galore, it leaves you wanting even more. If you’re a roller coaster fanatic like me, you definitely don’t want to miss the Rock’n’Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This coaster will literally take your breath away. If you have little kids, be sure to take them to Disney Junior – Live on Stage, where they can watch their Disney Junior pals perform a fun and happy show. And, for nighttime entertainment, go to the Magic Kingdom to catch take-your-breath away fireworks shows, or go to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to watch the nighttime spectacular, Fantasmic! Lights! Fireworks! Characters! Water! (Oh my!) And as always, be sure to get pictures of your kids with their favorite Disney characters.
In many ways, Walt Disney World is one big musical theater. Former Disney executive Lee Cockerell says, “At Disney, we believe everything’s important.” “We’re fanatical about – you don’t have to be happy to work at Disney, but you do have to act happy for eight hours.” So, I do believe Walt Disney World is the happiest place on Earth, because of all the great rides, the happy employees, and the magical experience. Trust me, you will not be disappointed! Like the Disney folks say, “When you wish upon a star, your dreams come true!”
